Brazilian government announced on Monday an agreement with the Uruguayan authorities to increase the export of automobiles and automotive parts to the country.
The new agreement will allow the export until 31 December, 10.056 cars and up to $ 99.6 million in parts to this sector, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil.
The statement said the previous agreement limited to 8,504 the number of cars that Brazil could export to Uruguay until June 31, 2016.
“Brazil and Uruguay established, in addition, a work plan that among other topics, will deal to increase the production integration between the two countries” the statement said.
The agreement was reached at a time when the Brazilian automotive industry is facing a deep drop in sales.
