Trades – Brazilian agribusiness

According to MAPA, Brazilian agribusiness exports to the Middle East grew by 13.3% in November year-on-year. The value of exports to the region reached US$686m during the month, representing 12% of the total exported. Export values to the United Arab Emirates totaled US$176.3m in November –a year-on-year increase of 51.7%.The Brazilian trade balance registered a US$865m surplus in the first two weeks of December, according to the MDIC. This results from exports worth US$4.817bn and imports of US$3.952bn. Shipments of semi-manufactured products grew 9.8% during the period year-on-year. In the meantime, sales of basic products fell by 16.9%. On the import side, there was a 128.1% increase in receipts of cereals and milled products.
