Brazil accumulated a trade balance surplus of US$28.2bn surplus in the first seven months of 2016, the highest ever recorded for this period. In 2015, the surplus was just over US$4.6bn for the same period. The accumulated export total for the first seven months this year is US$106.6bn, a 5.6% year-on-year drop. Imports reached US$78.4bn representing a 27.6% fall over the same period comparison.
